Meet Our Team

Soleman founded Hashmi Law in 2006 and has spent nearly two decades building it into one of Surrey's most trusted full-service firms. He holds a B.Sc. from the University of British Columbia and a Bachelor of Laws from the University of Saskatchewan, with part of his legal studies completed at Oxford University in England. Soleman practices across litigation, corporate law, real estate, wills & estates, and personal injury, bringing broad experience to every client conversation.

Fluent in French, Urdu, Punjabi, and Hindi, and conversational in Spanish, Soleman is known for making clients from every background feel understood and well cared for. He's an active voice in the Surrey business community, sitting on the boards of the Downtown Surrey Business Improvement Association and the Surrey Bar Association. Outside the office, he stays grounded through running and cycling.

Rod earned his law degree from the University of British Columbia in 2002 and was called to the bar the following year. Over his career he's built deep experience across real estate, wills & estates, corporate law, civil litigation, residential tenancy matters, employment and labour law, and personal injury including slip & fall claims. Before law, Rod spent several years working in the entertainment industry, an unconventional path that shaped his practical, people-first approach to legal problems.

Rod lives in Surrey with his family and spends his time outside the office hiking, skiing, and cycling around the Fraser Valley he calls home.
